"Chun-Li is one of the most popular characters in all of fighting games. Apart from being a continuous favorite as a recurring character in Street Fighter she also has the distinction of being the pioneer for strong leading women in the franchise. Her iconic attire and ox horn hairstyle are instantly recognizable along with her trademark powerful legs. The hardest hitting legs in the series that make her one of (if not THE) highest jumpers in the game, as well as one of the fastest and most agile warriors on the roster."
Growing up as a kid Chun-Li admired her father Dorai who, as a detective in the Hong Kong Police, was a legend in their ranks for his determination and his stellar record of successful cases in the line of duty. As a hand-to-hand fighter Dorai was also quite formidable. When Chun Li showed an interest in the Tai Chi she would catch him performing he started training her in martial arts at a very young age. It didn't take long to see that she showed massive potential as a fighter. Realizing this her father encouraged her to train with others including an old friend of his named Gen who was one of the greatest fighters he knew. Gen was also impressed with her aptitude as she exuded a natural grace beyond her years and especially with how powerful her kicks were even as a child. It's been said that Chun-Li, like her father, has legendary legs. Little did anyone know then that she would blow past her father in that department by miles to be one of the strongest kickers the world has ever seen. When she came of age to pursue her career, out of her own eager passion and with admiration for her dear father, she jumped at the chance to serve the law and help others. Rising up the ranks like a rocket she eventually landed a postion at Interpol. There her own legend is already being written. Whispers of a worldwide crime syndicate have begun to draw her attention and her life is about to be put into overdrive bringing it to justice. Those close to her know that when Chun-Li sets her sights on something she will use every tactic in accordance with the law to get the job done. But for those times where the law fails...she fights - and have mercy on anyone who tries to stop the strongest woman in the world.
